Born on October 1, 1924, Jimmy Carter had an extraordinary life. He not only served as a successful businessman, naval officer, and politician, but also became known for his negotiation skills and humanitarian work. His presidency was marked by significant achievements, particularly in the Middle East, where he helped broker the Camp David Accords, which led to a peace agreement between Egypt and Israel.

In addition to his work as a politician, Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his work in promoting democracy, human rights, and peace efforts worldwide. His legacy extended beyond his time in office, as he continued to be involved in humanitarian and diplomatic work throughout his life.

One of Carter’s most enduring contributions to U.S.-India relations was his visit to India, where he became only the third American president to do so. During his visit, a village in Haryana was named Carterpuri in his honor, a testament to the lasting impact of his leadership.

Carter was the longest-living US president in history, having surpassed the previous record held by George H. W. Bush. His 100th birthday in October was celebrated as a milestone, reflecting his remarkable life and career.
