New Delhi: Amid escalating public feud between US President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk, hilarious memes flooded social media platforms on Friday. The ongoing rift between the duo started after Musk criticised Trump’s announcement of a sweeping tax cut and spending bill, calling it a “disgusting abomination”.
“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it,” Mr Musk had posted on X.
The feud between the two turned murky and personal after they traded barbs against each other. Trump said that he was “disappointed in Elon” for coming against his “Big Beautiful Bill.” The US President also said that Tesla owner “knew the inner workings of this bill” and “all of a sudden he had a problem”.
The ongoing spat between Trump and Musk sparked meme fest online with social media users sharing hilarious memes. A user compared the rift between the former allies with the rappers Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s drama and teenage frenemies of “Mean Girls”. A user called the spat a blockbuster movie, captioning, “It’s great that Musk Vs Trump is free-to-air and not pay-per-view, so we can all enjoy it. #MuskVsTrump”.

In one of the memes, a burnt Tesla car can be seen parked outside Trump Plaza while in another an edited image from a scene of The Simpsons was used to depict the Musk vs Trump drama.
End of Trump, Musk bromance?
The last week’s departure of Musk from the Trump administration shows a major shift in the equation between the two former allies. Musk had helped Republicans win the presidential election last year by spending at least $250 million in the campaign. The Tesla owner had earlier also claimed that hat Trump would not have won the presidential election without him.
