Baloch nationalists appeal India to allow opening of embassy, ask UN to send peace mission

New Delhi: The Baloch people have intensified their struggle for independence from Pakistan and independent and sovereign state. From social media to armed struggle, the Baloch people have been waging war for their independence.

When Baloch activist and writer Mir Yar Baloch declared Balochistan’s independence from Pakistan, social media users started trending “Republic of Balochistan announced”. After this announcement, several appeals were made both to the Indian government as well as the United Nations.

What Mir Yar Baloch wrote on X

Mir Yar Baloch declared the Balochistan’s independence on X saying, “We have claimed our independence. Pakistan’s terrorist system is about to fall now. The Indian government should allow Balochistan to open an office and embassy in Delhi.”

Mir Yar also said that Baloch fighters have attacked the gas fields of Dera Bugti, which is the center of Pakistan’s major gas supply.

Request to UN to send peace mission

The Baloch leader has also appealed to the United Nations asking it to immediately send its peacekeeping forces to Balochistan and expel the Pakistani army from their land, sea and airspace. He demanded that all the assets under control of Pakistan army be handed over to Balochistan and all non-Baloch soldiers, ISI and administrative officials be expelled from the region.

Promise for interim government

Mir Yar also promised to form an interim Baloch government in which women will also get representation. He said that the ceremony of the interim government will be held soon. He said the invitation will be sent to heads of states of friendly countries to participate in the ceremony.

14 Pak soldiers killed in attack

Meanwhile, the Baloch rebel group called Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) took responsibility for an attack on Pakistani army convoy killing 14 soldiers. A video is also being shared on social media showing rebels blowing up army vehicle. London-based ‘Free Balochistan Movement’ leader Hirbyar Mari demanded that Jinnah House in Mumbai be converted into Balochistan House.

Mari said Baloch will plan their independence from Jinnah House just like Pak founder announced creation of Pakistan during Partition of India. He also accused the UN of bias and said Baloch issue has been ignored since 1947.
