New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on an official visit to Kuwait for two days, marking a significant step in strengthening the ties between India and the Gulf nation. This is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Kuwait in over four decades.
On the first day of his visit, PM Modi met Kuwait’s Emir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The Prime Minister expressed his pleasure in meeting the Emir, describing it as a productive interaction.

Key meetings and schedule on Day 2
The second day of the visit is packed with official engagements. His itinerary includes several high-level meetings and public engagements.
PM Modi will accept the Guard of Honour at Bayan Palace at 10 am. After this, he will meet Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah. After this, the PM will also meet Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah.
PM Modi will meet Kuwait’s Prime Minister Ahmed Al Abdullah Al Sabah between 11.30 am and 12.30 pm and after that will sign the MoU. PM Modi will also address the media in a press briefing at 3 pm before departing for India later in the day.
What did PM Modi do on first day of visit?
On the first day, PM Modi visited a labour camp in the Mina Abdullah area, where he interacted with Indian workers. The camp houses a large number of Indian labourers, who welcomed the Prime Minister with enthusiasm. He lauded their hard work and contributions to Kuwait’s development.
PM Modi also participated in a community program titled “Hala Modi.” Addressing the gathering, he referred to Kuwait as a “mini India,” highlighting the strong presence of Indians in the country. He emphasized the cultural and historical connections between India and Kuwait and spoke about how these ties continue to benefit both nations.
The Prime Minister praised the robust trade relations, saying that Kuwait has been a reliable supplier of oil and other goods to India. He also highlighted India’s contributions to Kuwait through its workforce and cultural ties.
PM Modi received a warm welcome by Kuwaiti officials and the Indian community. During his interactions, he expressed gratitude to the Indian diaspora for playing a pivotal role in fostering this relationship.
