New Delhi: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility on Saturday for a wave of coordinated attacks at 39 locations across Balochistan, marking one of the most significant escalations in the province in recent years.
According to a statement issued by the group, its elite ‘Fateh Squad’ has seized control of Mangochar city in Kalat district, following a dramatic operation that included blockading the Khuzdar-Quetta highway and detaining local police personnel. The detained officers were later released.
‘Offensive involved capture of police stations’
BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that the offensive involved the capture of police stations, highway blockades, the arrest of informants, and attacks on military convoys allegedly involved in the extraction of Balochistan’s mineral resources. He added that operations are ongoing and warned of further actions if military repression and resource exploitation persist.
