Suva: Fiji Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka expressed his admiration and respect for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During a press conference, Rabuka referred to PM Modi as “Boss Sahab” and highlighted the close relationship between India and Fiji, emphasizing shared values of peace, progress and unity.
Rabuka began his remarks with a warm greeting, saying, “PM Modi is ‘Boss Sahab’. ‘Boss Sahab’ thank you, I greet you, keep looking at Fiji, we are friends.” He also congratulated Modi on his re-election and praised his leadership.

Fiji PM congratulates PM Modi
“I congratulate PM Modi for getting re-elected,” Rabuka said, adding that Fiji is committed to a path of peace and progress. He described these principles as great ideas for world leaders to emulate.
The Fijian leader highlighted PM Modi’s global outreach and efforts to unite Hindus worldwide. “He extended his hands out to the Hindus all over the world. I congratulate him on that. Oneness in the journey of Hindus in the world will eventually translate into oneness in the people of the world,” Rabuka said.
Rabuka also praised PM Modi’s governance philosophy, particularly the “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” model, which translates to “Together with all, development for all.” He said, “‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’, I believe it is a great model…we continue to preach that message.”
Fiji and India share historical ties and cultural connections, with a large population of Indian origin residing in Fiji. Rabuka’s words signify the strengthening of these bonds and his appreciation for India’s role in promoting global harmony.
21-member foreign delegates visit to Maha Kumbh
A 21-member delegation comprising representatives from 10 different countries visited the Sangam in Prayagraj on January 16.
