Fulllerton: At least two people were killed and 18 others injured after a small plane crashed into a furniture warehouse in Fullerton city of southern California on Thursday evening, officials said.
Ten people were taken to hospital with injuries, the Fullerton Police Department reported in a post on X on Thursday afternoon. Eight others were treated at the scene and released, BBC reported.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the single-engine Van’s RV-10 crashed at 14:15 PST (20:15 GMT). Officials have not provided further details on how the crash occurred. It remains unclear whether the two people who died were on board the plane or were workers in the area.
Police are evacuating nearby buildings and have urged the public to avoid the crash site. Congressman Lou Correa, who represents Orange County, approximately 25 miles (40 km) south of Los Angeles, stated that the plane struck a furniture manufacturing business.
