California Wildfire: Death toll rises as efforts to control fire continue

Sacramento: With fire fighters continue with their efforts to dose off fire in Los Angeles country, close to 20,000 acres of land have been destroyed so far. The number of death tolls have also increased to seven due to the incident. More evacuation are also underway in the region after the fire.

According to officials, the fire spread to 19,978 acres of land. So far, 5,316 structures have been damaged in the area due to the incident so far. Earlier, California Governor Gavin Newsom has approved Los Angeles County’s request to deploy 8,000 National Guard members to help combat fires. Among the structures damaged in the incident include residential and commercial flights.

Earlier on Thursday, the Los Angeles Fire Department issued orders for what is known as Kenneth Fire. The fire continue to , which has a large number of homes in the San Fernando Valley.

As per Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone , structure may include apartment buildings, commercial buildings homes or even vehicles which were parked outside. At least seven schools, five churches, two libraries restaurants, bars banks and groceries were lost in the incident , part from Will Rogers’ Western Ranch House and Topanga Ranch Motel,, both of which dated back to 1920s.

US Government yet to releases details on cost of damages

So far, the US Government has not yet released figures related to the cost of the damage or details related to numbers of structures burned. Authorities also dropped water from in order to control the spread of fire in the Hollywood Hills and Studio City, said Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass as per news agency Associated Press.

Meanwhile, the wind gusts were expected to increase Thursday evening, with another round of strong winds expected next week. The forecast by concerned officials have raised concerns that the conditions could worsen further.
