Washington: President-Elect Donald Trump is all set to begin his second stint at the Capital Hill after his oath ceremony in Washington DC at around 10:30 pm on Monday. While several dignitaries will attend the event from the US and abroad several Indians will also be part of the ceremony. Trump will be the 47th President of the US.
The event will be held indoors for the first time in several years due to extremely cold weather conditions in Washington DC and its adjoining areas. Donald Trump also visited St. John’s Episcopal Church along with his wife Melania, for a service ahead of the inauguration, which had been a long presidential tradition before swearing-in.
The Indians taking part in the event
Among the Indians participating at the event include External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Reliance Industries (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani, his wife Nita Ambani, Tribeca Developers founder Kalpesh Mehta, M3M Developers MD Pankaj Bansal, among others. Ashish Jain, the MD of Pune-based real estate company Kundan Spaces, will also be at the historic event. The Ambanis had earlier attended a dinner hosted by Trump on Saturday.
Notably, while Mehta’s company Tribeca Developers is the licensed partner for the Trump Organisation in India, M3M Developers takes care of the Trump Tower project in Gurugram. Notably, Varanasi-based well-known Sarod player Amit Bhattacharya, who was the only Indian artist to be invited for the occasion, reportedly turned down the invite.

Apart from them, several CEOs from the US are also likely to attend including Google’s Sundar Pichai. Among the CEOs from the US expected to attend include Tesla’s Elon Musk, Meta founder Mark Zuckerburg, TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
