New Delhi: Just a day after Israel launched airstrikes on Iran, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announcedthat he would provide Starlink service to the people of Iran.
Elon Musk, in an unprecedented move, announced his support for the Iranian people. Musk even asserted that “America has benefitted from the influx of very talented Iranians.”
Meanwhile, the Iranian government has restricted internet access to the public a long time. Back in 2022, when Mahsa Amini was killed, the Iranian government blocked access to significant social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and X.

Notably, netizens are very delighted to receive such an offer from Musk, though several people commented that they would need special hardware to use it.

Another netizen said, ” It has been on since 2022 but now being acknowledged Many Iranians have to buy it 2x-3x the original price since there is no way to purchase it legally in Iran Many apartment buildings have been installing it and sharing the cost since the value of Iran currency has fallen.”

Another user said, ” Thank you Elon for standing up for what is right. Authoritarian regimes want to keep their people in the dark. The Iranian people deserve to live free of the oppressive Islamic regime and in a peaceful secular society with human right.”
