Washington: Tech billionaire Elon Musk met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Washington on Thursday, accompanied by his girlfriend, Shivon Zilis, and their three children. Following their meeting at the Blair House, PM Modi gifted Musk’s children three books: Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s The Crescent Moon, The Great RK Narayan Collection, and the famed Panchatantra by Pandit Vishnu Sharma.
Photos of the meeting, shared by the Prime Minister on X, showed Musk’s children engrossed in reading the books.
“Had a very good meeting with Elon Musk in Washington DC. We discussed various issues, including those he is passionate about such as space, mobility, technology and innovation. I talked about India’s efforts towards reform and furthering ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance,” he wrote in a post on X.
“It was also a delight to meet Mr Elon Musk’s family and to talk about a wide range of subjects,” PM Modi said in another post.

Elon Musk’s children
Musk reportedly welcomed twins with Shivon Zilis, an executive at his brain technology start-up Neuralink, in 2021. He later confirmed that they also had a third child.
According to reports, Musk, the world’s richest man, has fathered 12 children. His first child with his ex-wife, Justine Musk, tragically passed away at just 10 weeks old due to sudden infant death syndrome. The couple later had five children through IVF—twins Griffin and Vivian, followed by triplets Saxon, Damian, and Kai—before divorcing.
Musk also shares three children with musician Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher. Their children are named “X” (X Æ A-12, later changed to X Æ A-Xii), Exa Dark Sideræl, known as “Y,” and Techno Mechanicus, who goes by “Tau.”
Elon Musk’s role in Trump administration
Elon Musk heads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a body assigned by President Donald Trump to implement cuts to the US government.
According to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Musk and Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed “strengthening collaboration between Indian and US entities in innovation, space exploration, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development.”
“Their discussion also covered opportunities to deepen cooperation in emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, and good governance,” the statement added.
