‘If we’re attacked, US Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before’: Trump’s fresh warning to Iran

New Delhi: Shortly after Israel announced it had carried out an “extensive series of strikes” targeting Iran’s Defence Ministry headquarters and a nuclear project, US President Donald Trump on Sunday stated that Washington had “nothing to do” with the overnight attack on Iran.

Trump also sounded a stern warning to Iran, stating that the “full strength and might” of the American Armed Forces will “come down on you at levels never seen before” if Iran makes any attempt to attack the US.

Taking to Truth Social, Trump posted: “The US had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight. If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before.”

The US President added that he can “easily” get an agreement done between Iran and Israel, and “end this bloody conflict”.

A planned US-Iran nuclear talks that was scheduled to be held in Oman on Sunday was cancelled. President Trump on Friday called Iran to reach a deal with the US on its nuclear programme, adding that “Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left”.

Early Sunday, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said it had conducted an “extensive series of strikes on targets in Tehran related to the Iranian regime’s nuclear weapons project”.

In a post on X, it said that the targets included the headquarters of the Iranian Ministry of Defence and the SPND nuclear project. The IDF said it also hit the place where Iran “hid its nuclear archive”.

Across Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, air raid sirens were sounded after Iran carried out a fresh round of attacks. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed that missiles and drones launched by Iran targeted Israel’s energy infrastructure and facilities for fighter jet fuel production.
