Berlin: External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, during his visit to Germany, made a strong statement on India’s stand against terrorism. Speaking in Berlin, he said India has zero tolerance for terrorism and will never give in to nuclear blackmail. Referring to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, he said India had responded firmly and would continue to defend itself.
On India-Pakistan relations, Jaishankar made it clear that India will deal with Pakistan only bilaterally and rejected any third-party involvement. “There should be no confusion in any quarter in that regard,” he said, asserting India’s firm foreign policy.

He also spoke about India-Germany ties, calling Germany a “really important partner”. He said the cooperation between the two countries has grown stronger in recent years and has taken many new forms. “We deeply value Germany’s crucial, invaluable role in shaping India’s larger relationship with the EU,” he said.
Addressing a question on whether Germany had voiced support for India’s Operation Sindoor, Jaishankar clarified that the German government had indeed shown understanding. “I think you are misinformed. In fact, we had a conversation on the 7th of May, which is when we initiated our operations. It was a very understanding and positive conversation. And quite honestly, even before that, the German government had expressed solidarity. The minister very clearly conveyed Germany’s understanding that every nation has a right to defend itself against terrorism.”
