New Delhi: India’s military strikes against Pakistan last month were more extensive than previously disclosed, as revealed by an internal Pakistani government document. According to this document, Indian drones targeted various locations deep inside Pakistan, ranging from the northwestern city of Peshawar to Hyderabad in the south.
The confidential document detailing Pakistan’s “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos,” undertaken as a countermeasure against India’s “Operation Sindoor,” identifies at least seven additional targets not officially acknowledged by Indian authorities. Shared with Pakistani media, the document primarily criticises India’s actions as “unprovoked aggression,” though the strikes followed the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which resulted in 26 civilian deaths, The Hindustan Times reported.
Undisclosed drone strike sites
Detailed graphics within the document list specific locations hit by Indian drones on May 8, 9, and 10. These include Peshawar in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa; Attock, Bahawalnagar, Gujrat, and Jhang in Punjab province; and Chhor and Hyderabad in Sindh. These sites were notably absent from Indian military briefings conducted during or after the hostilities, and the Pakistani document does not specify the exact targets of these drone strikes.
India’s drone strike on May 8 targeted the National Defence Complex (NDC) in Attock district, a key facility responsible for assembling missile transporters and launchers. Notably, Bahawalnagar, Gujrat, and Jhang host significant Pakistani military installations, including major cantonments and the Rafiqui airbase, which was also struck by Indian missiles. Additionally, the Desert Warfare School is located in Chhor, while Hyderabad similarly houses an important army cantonment.
Satellite confirms extensive damage
Independent high-resolution satellite images from private firms have confirmed significant damage from India’s strikes on terrorist infrastructure at nine locations on May 7 and eight Pakistani airbases on May 10. Early on May 7, Indian forces targeted terror sites such as Markaz Subhanallah in Bahawalpur—the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed—and Markaz Taiba near Muridke, affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. Later, the Indian Air Force hit numerous military sites including airbases at Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, Chunian, Pasrur, Sialkot, Skardu, Sargodha, Jacobabad, Bholari and Malir Cantonment in Karachi.
