Kolkata: The ongoing war between Israel and Iran is escalating with each passing day, and now, an Iranian missile has reportedly struck close to a tech park where an office of Microsoft is located As per reports, fires erupted in the street close to the tech park in Beersheba, a city in the southern part of Israel on June 20.

The conflict began on June 12 when Israel launched ballistic attacks against Iran, and since then, both sides have been trading missiles, resulting in humungous destruction. Notably, Beersheba, the place that Iran has targeted is in the Negev desert, where the Nevatim airbase of the country is located.

CNN has reported that emergency services are responding to the fires with Israel’s military claiming it intercepted an Iranian missile. MDA paramedic Dvir Ben Ze’ev said, “We arrived quickly at the scene with large forces – intensive care units, ambulances, and motorcycles – and saw thick smoke, cars on fire, and visible destruction in one of the buildings, along with damage to additional apartments.”

The MDA has taken several steps following the attack, including creating triage points for workers and residents of the buildings which are located at the tech park. It also said, “At the same time, together with Home Front Command, the fire department, and the police, we are conducting searches in the damaged building and the affected apartments to ensure there are no injured people left inside.”

On June 19, Iran reportedly hit Israel’s major hospital, the Soroka Hospital in Beersheba. According to a Reuters report citing rescue teams, at least 47 people were injured across Israel due to the missile strikes of Iran. Several videos showed people running through corridors filled with dust and detritus with doctors standing outside as thick plumes of smoke emerged from the dilapidated building of the Soroka Hospital. It is the main hospital in the southern half of Israel with over 1,000 beds and provides services to the approximately 1 million people in the area.
