New Delhi: Seth Abramson, a biographer chronicling Elon Musk’s life, has issued a stark warning about the Tesla and SpaceX CEO’s mental state, arguing that Musk’s influence poses a significant threat to the United States.

In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Abramson alleged Musk may be experiencing a mental health crisis and called for immediate governmental intervention. This comes after Musk propagated several wild conspiracy theories on his social media accounts.

Abramson, who claims to have been closely monitoring Musk’s online behaviour for two years, points to Musk’s acknowledged struggles with mental illness, drug use, and overwhelming stress. He argues that these factors, combined with Musk’s vast influence across multiple critical sectors, create a precarious situation for national security.

I legitimately believe Elon Musk may be going mad. I’m a Musk biographer who has been tracking his online behavior for the last two years—and given that he’s admitted to all of mental illness, heavy drug use, and crippling stress, it is now reasonable to fear he is deeply unwell.

“I’m a Musk biographer who has been tracking his online behaviour for the last two years – and given that he’s admitted to all of mental illness, heavy drug use, and crippling stress, it is now reasonable to fear he is deeply unwell,” Abramson wrote in his first tweet of a long thread on X.

Musk’s control over key industries, aerospace, electric vehicles, social media, and artificial intelligence, is a significant concern for Abramson. Musk’s appointment as the incoming head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under the Trump administration further compounds this concern. Abramson contends that this confluence of power and potential instability jeopardises national security.

The biographer directly accuses Musk of inciting violence and claims his “madness” endangers the nation. He urges the current administration to take swift action before leaving office, including terminating government contracts with Musk and filing lawsuits against what he describes as unconstitutional initiatives planned under the DOGE.

“For 14 days more the administration is in a position to take urgent action to protect America from Elon Musk. That could include ending all U.S. contracts with him, filing lawsuits to block his unconstitutional DOGE initiative, and launching new federal and natsec investigations,” He added.

Abramson’s claims are fueled by Musk’s increasingly erratic and polarising online presence. Recent examples cited include Musk’s criticism of the UK government’s handling of a grooming scandal and his public support for Tommy Robinson, a far-right figure. These actions, according to Abramson, only serve to reinforce his concerns.

“If no action is taken—and I suspect no action will be taken—what this man in his burgeoning madness does to America as POTUS in the coming years will be on the heads of not just him and those who support or enable him but those who ignored urgent, informed warnings like this one,” Abramson said.

While some users on X share Abramson’s concerns, citing Musk’s erratic behaviour, others defend the billionaire. Reactions range from describing Musk as a “thin-skinned, drug-addled Bond villain” to speculation that he views himself as a protector of Western culture.
