New Delhi: A video of a Pakistan cleric has gone viral on social media criticising his own government for oppressing people. The cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz Ghazi, who is said to be the son of a Lal Masjid cleric in the capital Islamabad, called the Pakistan government as cruel and useless.
In the viral video, the cleric, who was delivering a sermon apparently at a mosque, asked people in attendance whether they will support Pakistan government in case of a war with India?. And there was no response from the worshippers.
“There are very few hands. It means many are enlightened now. The matter is that war between Pakistan and India is not an Islamic one, but a war of nation,” Ghazi could be heard in the video.

The cleric further slammed the Pakistan government saying there is more oppression in India than Pakistan and claimed that Pakistan’s government system is more cruel.
Ghazi also referred to the siege of Lal Masjid in 2007 and questioned whether “horrible the tragedy of the type of Lal Masjid took place in India.”
“Had the kind of oppression that took place in Waziristan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwah take place India. Did the fighter jets in India kill their own people like they did in Pakistan? Have people working for human rights disappeared in India just like they are in Pakistan?.
The cleric also said that the system in Pakistan is one of disbelief (qufr) and cited a incident from the time of Prophet Muhammad when he was asked about whether a war fought for Islam is important or for a nation.
The cleric also said people are exhausted from staging protests in search of their loved ones who have gone missing thanks to the government. It is said the video was apparently recorded on May 2 at the Lal Masjid. The video has been shared by Hussain Haqqani, who is former Pakistan ambassador to US.
