Washington: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held important discussions with SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy during his visit to the United States. PM Modi met Elon Musk in Washington DC on Thursday, where the two leaders explored opportunities in space, mobility, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development.
The Prime Minister emphasized India’s commitment to reforms and his vision of “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.” Sharing details about the interaction, PM Modi posted on X, “Had a very good meeting with @elonmusk in Washington DC. We discussed various issues, including those he is passionate about such as space, mobility, technology, and innovation.”

PM Modi meets Elon Musk’s family
The meeting also included External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and National Security advisor Ajit Doval. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a statement saying, “Prime Minister Modi and Mr. Musk discussed strengthening collaboration between Indian and US entities in innovation, space exploration, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development. Their discussion also touched on opportunities to deepen cooperation in emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, and good governance.”
Elon Musk, who also heads Tesla, met PM Modi at Blair House, accompanied by his family, including his three children. PM Modi described the interaction with Musk’s family as delightful and shared his thoughts on X, “It was also a delight to meet Mr. @elonmusk’s family and to talk about a wide range of subjects!”

PM Modi’s meeting with Indian-origin entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy
Later in the day, PM Modi met Indian-American billionaire entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy at Blair House. The two leaders discussed India-US ties, innovation and biotechnology. The MEA said that their discussions focused on the role of entrepreneurship in shaping the future and further strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
Ramaswamy, who previously contested the Republican presidential nomination, shared his insights on enhancing collaboration between the two countries. “It was a pleasure and honour to welcome Prime Minister Modi here. Hope he has a wonderful visit and it was a great meeting,” said Ramaswamy after his bilateral meeting with PM Narendra Modi.

Before these meetings, PM Modi also engaged with other key US officials during his visit. On Thursday, he met US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, accompanied by Jaishankar and Doval. Earlier, PM Modi had a meeting with Tulsi Gabbard, the newly sworn-in US director of National Intelligence.
