Russian government has said it’s ready for a phone call between President Putin and US President Donald Trump and is awaiting nod from Washington to kickstart the talks.

Kremlin, on Trump’s assertion that Ukraine President Zelensky is ready for a deal, said Zelensky cannot be ready because he has banned himself from holding negotiations in a decree.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Friday said President Putin has it made clear that he wants to restart talks on cutting nuclear arms as soon as possible, reported Reuters.

Kremlin also blamed the US for undermining arms control framework. The Russian govt spokesperson also said that the ball is in Washington’s court to initiate talks. According to Kremlin, any talks should take into account all nuclear arms.
