New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that countries do not expect Islamabad to approach them with a begging bowl, rather, they want Pakistan to actively participate in trade, business, and development, education and health, investments and so on. He made these comments while speaking at the Command and Staff College in Quetta, Balochistan.

The PM asserted that China is a key ally of Pakistan. Along with Saudi Arabia,  countries such as Turkey, Qatar and the UAE are believed to share friendly relations with Pakistan, too, he added.

‘No longer to carry burden of dependency’

Sharif stated, “But let me point out abundantly here that they expect us now to engage them in trade, commerce, innovation, research and development, education and health, investments, and profitable ventures mutually. They no longer expect us to go there with a begging bowl,” he added.

The PM mentioned that he and Field Marshal Asim Munir will no longer have the need to carry the burden of dependency on their shoulders.

‘We must make full use of natural, human resources’

Sharif underlined that Pakistan would be able to solve its economic issues by actively harnessing the state’s natural and human resources for profitable ventures.

“So what is the answer? The answer is pure and simple that the natural resources, human resources, Allah Almighty has blessed us with, we must make full use of it and deploy them for these very profitable ventures,” he said.

‘If we are able to defeat terrorism…’

The PM urged that the country should unitedly fight against terrorism and focus on the significance of exports, rather than backing businesses that are not profitable. “If we are able to defeat terrorism, if we are able to put the nation together which is united like never before, and if we are absolutely clear in our vision that we have to promote export growth, we must not promote those idling units in Pakistan, which are not making profits,” said Shehbaz Sharif.
