‘Thousands of terrorists living in our country’: Trump doubles down on immigrant issue

Washington: Thousands of terrorists are in the US and the administration will be doing something about it in the coming future, President Donald Trump has in his first remarks on the illegal immigrants issue after taking office.

“We have terrorists in our country by the thousands…We’re going to take care of it,” Trump said during an interview with Fox News on Thursday.

The remarks are the latest in line with Trump’s strong stance on the immigration issue in the US and his affirmation to securing the country’s borders, for which he has already signed an executive order on January 21, the day he took as president.

“America’s sovereignty is under attack.  Our southern border is overrun by cartels, criminal gangs, known terrorists, human traffickers, smugglers, unvetted military-age males from foreign adversaries, and illicit narcotics that harm Americans, including America,” Trump said in the executive order.
Trump also halted refugee resettlement and indicated that his administration would pursue legal action against local law enforcement officials who fail to enforce his new immigration policies.
This invasion has caused widespread chaos and suffering in our country over the last 4 years.  It has led to the horrific and inexcusable murders of many innocent American citizens, including women and children, at the hands of illegal aliens.  Foreign criminal gangs and cartels have begun seizing control of parts of cities, attacking our most vulnerable citizens, and terrorizing Americans beyond the control of local law enforcement, it added.
Trump stated that cartels dominate large areas just south of the US-Mexico border, exerting control over who can and cannot travel to the United States. He highlighted the tragic loss of hundreds of thousands of American lives due to drug overdoses resulting from illicit narcotics crossing the southern border.

This attack on the American people and the integrity of the nation’s sovereign borders poses a severe threat to the United States.

Given the urgency and seriousness of this danger, it is essential for the Armed Forces to take all necessary actions to support the Department of Homeland Security in achieving full operational control of the southern border.
