New Delhi: Two Indian students were killed in a car accident in Pennsylvania Turnpike in Lancaster County on Saturday, May 10. The Lancaster County Corner’s office identified the victims as Saurav Prabhakar (23-year-old) and Manav Patel (20-year-old). Another passenger seated in the front row of the vehicle was left injured and rushed to the Reading hospital, according to the officials.
Both Manav and Saurav were pronounced dead at the spot from multiple traumatic injuries. Both deaths were ruled accidental.
In a Lancasteronline.com report, the car crash happened at around 7:08 am on May 10 near milepost 286.5 in Brecknock Township, which is nearby to the Reading Interchange.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), the vehicle struck against a tree before colliding with a bridge. Saurav was driving the vehicle while Manav was seated as a rear passenger. The PSP’s forensic services unit assisted into the investigation.
“Deeply saddened to learn about the unfortunate road accident in which two Indian students from Cleveland State University, Manav Patel (20) and Saurav Prabhakar (23) lost their lives,” the Consulate General of India in New York said in a post on X Monday.

Both the deceased persons were students at the Cleveland State University in Ohio.
