New Delhi: ‘US momentum is back’, said US President Donald Trump as he delivered an address to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday, outlining the progress and agenda of his second term since he took office on January 20. His speech came as Washington has initiated a trade war by imposing tariffs on imports from neighbouring Canada and Mexico.
The Republican dwelt on his achievements in a speech which revolved around the theme “Renewal of the American Dream.” Trump touted his swift and unrelenting action on immigration, the economy, and security. He started his speech by claiming to have achieved more in six weeks than most administrations do in four or eight years. “We accomplished more in 44 days”.
He pointed out that American dream is unstoppable. Chants of “USA!” erupt among Republican lawmakers and guests in the House chamber.
