New Delhi: The US will not impose sanctions and tariffs on Colombia after the South American nation agreed to the demands of President Donald Trump, according to a statement from the White House. The Colombian government had earlier rejected to accept deported migrants from the United States.
Earlier on Sunday, Colombian President Gustavo Petro ordered an increase of import tariffs on US goods in retaliation to a similar order by Trump. The tariffs fight came after Petro rejected two US military flights carrying migrants to Colombia which Trump said “jeopardized” national security in the US.
