Tehran: Amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, thick clouds of smoke spread across the Iranian sky as Israel bombed the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN) building on Monday. The bombing occurred during a live broadcast. Within seconds, debris was scattered across the studio.
As a retaliatory response, Tehran warned Israel that it is preparing for “the largest and most intense missile attack in history on Israeli soil,” Iranian media reported.
‘Iranian propaganda to disappear’: Katz
The attack came after Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz declared that Tel Aviv would make “Iranian propaganda” disappear. “The Iranian propaganda and incitement mouthpiece is on its way to disappear,” Katz said.
Katz also warned Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stating that Israel will “strike everywhere” against the “Iranian director.”

A few hours earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that Israel “controls the skies over Tehran” and said his country is “on the way” to destroying Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile threats.
Netanyahu also asserted that Israel is only targeting the Iranian regime’s assets, despite having full freedom of movement in Iranian airspace—unlike Iran, which, he said, is attacking Israeli civilians.
Iran-Israel conflict
The Israel-Iran conflict has now entered its fourth consecutive day. At least 224 people have been killed since Israel began its airstrikes on Iran on Friday, according to Iranian state media. Meanwhile, Iran’s retaliatory strikes have killed at least 24 people in Israel. Reports also suggest that Israeli airstrikes have targeted key associates of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Since the war in Gaza began in 2023, fears of a full-scale war between Iran and Israel have intensified. The decades-long enmity between the two nations has often played out through covert operations by land, sea, air, and cyberattacks.
