New Delhi: In a cryptic post, the White House lauded the strength and resolve of the US military, soon after US President Donald Trump sounded a warning that “everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran” as tensions escalate between Iran and Israel.

The post had a video of Trump and US First Lady Melania Trump walking side by side and saluting the US Army.

It had a message, attributed to the President, reading, “Whenever duty calls and whatever danger comes, the American soldier will be there. The USA will always have the grace of Almighty God and the iron will of the US Army. Thanks to their extraordinary service and devotion, 250 years later, America stands tall.”

Earlier, Trump in a post on Truth Social asked people to evacuate Tehran, while warning that Iran should not obtain a nuclear weapon and hitting out at its refusal to sign a deal.

Trump wrote: “Iran should have signed the ‘deal’ I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”

Air sirens blare in Tel Aviv

Meanwhile, air raid sirens blared in Tel Aviv shortly after midnight as explosions reverberated across the city during another wave of Iranian missile strikes on Israel.

Over the past five days, Iran has reported 224 deaths, a majority of them civilians. Israel said 24 of its civilians had been killed in the Iran attacks. Israeli finance minister Bezalel Smotrich said almost 3,000 people had been evacuated due to damage from Iranian attacks.
