PM Modi’s letter to Mangal Sain Handa
Mangal Sain Handa, who served as an IFS officer, has been an admirer of PM Modi’s leadership. Last year, on the occasion of Handa’s 100th birthday, the Prime Minister had sent a congratulatory letter acknowledging his contributions to India’s diplomatic efforts.
In the letter, PM Modi wrote, “It is a pleasure to learn about your 100th birthday on September 1, 2023. Greetings and heartiest congratulations to you on this occasion.” He highlighted Handa’s efforts in strengthening India’s international relations and his role in navigating global challenges. PM Modi concluded the message with warm wishes, saying, “May you continue to be blessed with good health and well-being.”
Handa expresses gratitude
Deeply touched by this gesture, Handa expressed his gratitude on X, sharing the letter and writing, “My heartfelt gratitude to our hon’ble @PMOIndia @narendramodi for sending his kind wishes on my 100th birthday. It has been worth living for 100 years to witness India grow under his leadership & continue the stride.”
The prime minister began his two-day visit to Kuwait on Saturday, marking the first trip to the Gulf nation by an Indian Prime Minister in 43 years. During his visit, PM Modi will engage with top Kuwaiti leaders, visit an Indian labor camp, address the Indian community and attend the opening ceremony of the Gulf Cup football tournament.
PM Modi’s visit to Kuwait comes at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait. The two leaders are expected to discuss strengthening bilateral ties, economic cooperation and regional stability.
