Tehran: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a warning to Israel amidst the rising tensions and fighting between the 2 countries. He said that Iran’s armed forces were ready to retaliate against the Israeli attack. He also described Israel’s attack on his country as a “big mistake”.

Taking to social media platform, ‘X’, Khamenei wrote, “The Zionist regime has made a big mistake, a grave error, and committed a reckless act. By God’s grace, the consequences of this will bring that regime to ruin.”

Not only that the Iranian leader said that officials and all the people of Iran were behind the armed forces. He warned Israel that the Iranian nation won’t permit the blood of its valued martyrs to go unavenged, nor will it ignore the violation of its airspace. He also told Israel’s leaders that the armed forces of Iran won’t show any mercy to them.

He further went on to talk about how Iran will defeat Israel in the war. He said, “This is a certainty that the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces will deal heavy blows to this evil Zionist enemy.” He said that Israel won’t be able to escape from the heinous crime they’ve committed. He said that the “Zionist” life will be made bitter.

Khamenei also addressed Iranians through his post, asking them to be strong in the face of enemy attack. He told them that Iran would give a strong response to the evil, despicable, terrorist Zionist identity and that they will respond with strength, and will show no mercy to them.
He also extended condolences to the Army personnel, commanders and several civilians killed in the attack by Israel.

The statement by Khamenei came amidst overnight airstrikes by Israel on the country. Iran has responded strongly to the attack. They launched ballistic missile attacks on several Israeli targets and shot down Israeli jets. Israel’s attacks killed Revolutionary Guards chief Hossein Salami and six nuclear scientists. Israel claimed that Iran’s nuclear programme had reached dangerous levels and that’s why it had launched ‘Operation Rising Lion’.
Following the airstrikes by Israel, Iran launched at least 100 drones on the country. Israel, meanwhile, had already warned its public of retaliation from Iran. Air raid sirens were activated in several cities across Israel and people rushed to take shelter.
